    Une \u00e9quipe d'ing\u00e9nieurs de l'Universit\u00e9 de l'Illinois a battu le record de transmission de donn\u00e9es \u00e0 travers la fibre optique. 57 Gb\/s, c'est la vitesse obtenue sans erreurs \u00e0 temp\u00e9rature ambiante<\/strong> gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 un nouveau type de laser.<\/p>\n

    Curtis Wang, Michael Liu et le professeur Milton Feng<\/strong> ont r\u00e9ussi ce record gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 la cr\u00e9ation d'une impulsion de lumi\u00e8re plus nette et plus efficace. “Nous nous sommes toujours pos\u00e9 la question de savoir comment transmettre des informations plus rapidement” d\u00e9clare le professeur Feng.<\/p>\n

    Plus les donn\u00e9es sont volumineuses et plus il faudra une vitesse de transmission rapide pour permettre \u00e0 ces donn\u00e9es d'\u00eatre transf\u00e9r\u00e9es d'un point \u00e0 un autre.<\/p>\n

    2 ans plus t\u00f4t les ing\u00e9nieurs \u00e9taient les premiers aux \u00c9tats-Unis \u00e0 atteindre les 40 Gb\/s sans erreurs avec la m\u00eame m\u00e9thode. Cette fois-ci les 57 Gb\/s r\u00e9compensent leurs efforts.\u00a0\u00c0 haute temp\u00e9rature (85\u00b0C), la vitesse descend \u00e0 50 Gb\/s. Pour imager la vitesse de transmission de cette fibre optique, imaginez-vous t\u00e9l\u00e9charger un Blu-Ray en quelques secondes.<\/p>\n

    Atteindre de grandes vitesses \u00e0 haute temp\u00e9rature est tr\u00e8s difficile \u00e0 cause de la nature des mat\u00e9riaux utilis\u00e9s qui pr\u00e9f\u00e8rent les temp\u00e9ratures basses, les composants d'ordinateurs chauffent au cours d'utilisation \u00e9tendues, toute personne ayant utilis\u00e9 un ordinateur qui chauffe peut en attester.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

    Le mentor de l'\u00e9quipe d'ing\u00e9nieurs esp\u00e8re que les conf\u00e9rences de pr\u00e9sentation prouveront que la transmission \u00e0 grande vitesse \u00e0 haute temp\u00e9rature est scientifiquement possible et s'av\u00e8re \u00eatre utile et d'usage commercial.<\/p>\n

    Avec de telles \u00e9volutions et en sachant que la population est de plus en plus attir\u00e9e par la fibre optique, il est impossible de ne pas r\u00eaver d'\u00e9quipements permettant des vitesses de transmissions de plusieurs Gb\/s dans les foyers.
