Tout le monde, jusqu'\u00e0 l'op\u00e9rateur Orange, vous le dit et le r\u00e9p\u00e8te : toutes les 5G ne se valent pas<\/a>. En fonction de la plage de fr\u00e9quences, la port\u00e9e prime sur le d\u00e9bit ou c'est l'inverse. Dans un premier temps les op\u00e9rateurs ont donc privil\u00e9gi\u00e9 le r\u00e9seau le plus facile \u00e0 installer, la 5G “de base” dont on peut b\u00e9n\u00e9ficier d\u00e8s aujourd'hui<\/a> avec un terminal compatible. N\u00e9anmoins c\u00f4t\u00e9 d\u00e9bits cette 5G l\u00e0 n'a rien d'une r\u00e9volution<\/strong>. La bande-passante au quotidien est g\u00e9n\u00e9ralement semblable \u00e0 celle d\u00e9livr\u00e9e par une bonne 4G avec des d\u00e9bits sup\u00e9rieurs de mani\u00e8re localis\u00e9e.<\/p>\n

Le r\u00e9el apport de ce r\u00e9seau 5G est de mieux couvrir les lieux de forte affluence<\/strong>. La 5G excelle en effet dans ces conditions gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 davantage de canaux d'\u00e9mission et de technologies comme le beamforming<\/em>. Mais pour vraiment faire exploser les d\u00e9bits, il faut un autre r\u00e9seau d'antennes dit mmWave<\/strong>. Ce r\u00e9seau est beaucoup plus complexe et co\u00fbteux \u00e0 d\u00e9ployer car les antennes mmWave sont par d\u00e9finition moins puissantes, et leurs plages de fr\u00e9quences p\u00e9n\u00e8trent moins bien les b\u00e2timents. Avant de commercialiser des offres 5G mmWave il faut ainsi installer un tr\u00e8s grand nombre d'antennes au plus pr\u00e8s des clients.<\/p>\n
